Video game publishers are creating titles especially for mobile devices. The market will see increased number of better quality games. Mobile games are also expected to leverage multiplayer capabilities and 3D graphics.
Mobile-gaming users worldwide will grow substantially through the remainder of the decade, reaching 134 million average users a month by 2010 and the industry is set to expand to $6.1 billion. (Source)

As it happens with all good things, there are potential barriers that could hamper mobile gaming’s growth:
- Complexity of downloading the games
- High download/playing time fees and lack of cost transparency
- Mobile game piracy
- High cost of developing games especially considering the complexity of them being compatible with the wide variety of mobile phones available.
- Unwillingness of the service providers to underwrite the development of the games or pay enough royalty to make it profitable for publishers.
